Everything I’ve ever wanted I made a wish last night. I hoped everything would come true, but I knew it probably wouldn’t. It was a shooting star before school started again. I was hoping I would strike luck for once in my life. I went outside Vanessa’s house waiting for my “best friend” to come out so we could go ride the bus to school together. Everyday she was late and I had no clue why I even put up with it.
(20 minutes later)
“HEY!! IT’S ME! IT’S VANESSA!!”
“Oh… Hey.”
I never acted that way before. I used to hug her when she came and start squealing with delight. I no longer felt like I needed a friend to be happy. I no longer felt like I should put up with it. Then I knew I had to make a move.
“Idon’twannabeyourfriendanymorei’msickofyou!” I blurted out in one breath.
“What did you just say?”
“I said that I don’t wanna be your friend anymore, I’m sick of you! You’re constantly late, and you think too highly of yourself!!”
“You don’t know what I’m capable of doing.”
“Do what? Ruin my life?”
“Yes. I can brand you loser for life.”
“I don’t care!!! My life is already bits and pieces and I found out wishes don’t come true!”
I stormed off and ran to school. Instead of feeling depressed, I felt giddy. I felt like I was only 5 years old with no worries. Everything seemed perfect, and then I thought back to what I had said to Vanessa. I never knew I had so much confidence in me. I never knew that I had any confidence. Maybe wishes do come true, and this was just the beginning.
(On the Bus)
I sat down on the bus, all by myself, and felt giddy. All of a sudden, the bus swerved and a girl with long wavy brown hair fell onto me. She smiled at me embarressed and walked away.
'Clumsy...' i thought, but it wasn't really her fault she was walking on the aisle as the bus swerved and plus she was looking at someone. I turned to see who she was looking at. It was a tall guy with red hair. THen she walked to the back of the bus, with the other girls.
'Stuck up popular kids.'
"Everybody get off the bus, we're at the school."
(In 1st Period ELA)
“Students, as you all know, after breaks we have new seats…” the old gasbag teacher rasped out.
“Aw… c’mon…” moaned a few of the kids.
“How childish,” I murmured under my breath.
Then old gasbag started to list off who sat where. I had the best seat and then Vanessa came into the room late. She smiled at the teacher and he sat her in the front of the class.
‘Perfect’ I thought, ‘now, she’ll be drenched in old gasbag’s spittle.’ I laughed to myself as I was placed in the very back of the room. I thought that was the perfect place. I was in the back row, by the door in the corner. I could read In the corner and no one would see. I smiled, everything was perfect so far. Maybe I could find happiness, where ever it is.
